Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for this website and the KNX Atlas app is: Dr. Thomas Entner, Vienna, Austria. Email: contact@drentner.at

In short

This website uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking tools, no external fonts and no advertising networks. No profiling takes place.

Hosting and server log files

This website is delivered through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit it, Cloudflare automatically processes technical access data, in particular IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser and operating system, and the amount of data transferred.

This processing serves reliable delivery and protection against abuse. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare has committed to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Details: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Contact by email

If you email me, I process your sender address and the information in your message to answer your request or – if you ask for it – to let you know about the release of KNX Atlas. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. The data is deleted once it is no longer needed for this and no retention obligations apply.

The KNX Atlas app

KNX Atlas processes project files and the information read from them locally on your device. There is no account, no project server, and no analytics or advertising services.

Project passwords are stored only if you explicitly want that – in the device’s Keychain. Backups of device memory from commissioning and the product library are kept in the app’s data area on your device. A device certificate (FDSK) is held in memory for the current session only and is not stored; the camera is used only to read its QR code, and images are neither stored nor transmitted.

Connections to KNX interfaces stay within your local network. When you search the KNX Online Catalog, the app sends your search text and the chosen products to KNX Association’s public catalog server (onlinecatalog.knx.org), which also sees your device’s IP address. KNX Atlas itself receives or stores no data about you.

If you keep a project file in iCloud Drive or with another provider, that provider’s terms apply independently of KNX Atlas.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Please contact the email address above. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
